484 Those who are not prepared for the apprehension of a great
485 purpose, should fix their thoughts upon the faultless
486 performance of their duty, no matter how insignificant their
487 task may appear. Only in this way can the thoughts be
488 gathered and focused, and resolution and energy be
489 developed, which being done, there is nothing which may not
490 be accomplished.
491 The weakest soul, knowing its own weakness, and believing
492 this truth - that strength can only be developed by effort and
493 practice, will at once begin to exert itself, and adding effort
494 to effort, patience to patience, and strength to strength, will
495 never cease to develop, and will at last grow divinely strong.
496 As the physically weak man can make himself strong by
497 careful and patient training, so the man of weak thoughts can
498 make them strong by exercising himself in right thinking.
499 To put away aimlessness and weakness, and to begin to think
500 with purpose, is to enter the ranks of those strong ones who
