Students as Mathema�cians: Making Use of MP7 and MP8 in K-2
Fostering an environment in which students see themselves as mathema�cians is essen�al for
implemen�ng equitable mathema�cs instruc�on. Teachers can help by providing opportuni�es for
students to engage with the Standards for Mathema�cal Prac�ce (MPs). We will discuss how to
effec�vely promote the MPs in class, focusing on MP7 and MP8. Grades PreK - 2
