Making Math Matter: It’s a Way of Life with Infinite Possibilities

                                                 Launch Zearn Math for Leaders

Through the Palmeto Math Project, all South Carolina schools have access to Zearn, a top rated K-8 math
learning plaorm. In this session, you’ll explore examples of Zearn’s digital lessons and in-app reporng to
drive student growth and bridge skill gaps, along with strategies to monitor usage and support teachers for a
                                               strong implementaon. Grades 3 - 8

                                                        Anna Daley, Zearn

                                                      Bonnie Grubbs, Zearn

Session 210 will be held in 202 A from 1:00-1:50.

Demysfying Word Problems: Shiing Mindsets and MTV (Making Thinking Visible)
Are you aiming for your students to deeply understand word problems and the answers they get? Experience
and reflect on four strategies to support student comprehension of word problems.

                                                         Grades K - 8

Session 211 will be held in 202 B from 1:00-1:50.
Making Fluency Mater: Beyond Recall & Algorithms

In many classrooms, math fluency has been reduced to speed drills and rote algorithms. But fluency is not
about fast facts. It’s about flexibility, efficiency, and deep understanding. In this session, we will reimagine
what fluency means, exploring strategies that shi math instrucon from “get the answer quickly” to
“understand the math deeply.” Grades 3 - 5

                                                 Kamaya Menon, Roebuck Elementary

Session 213 will be held in 202 C from 1:00-1:50.

Bridging Prior Knowledge to New Learning Through Real-World Connecons

In this hands-on session, educators will explore strategies to uncover prerequisite skills, connect them to
current standards, and create engaging math tasks rooted in real-world applicaons. Walk away with ready-
to-use acvies, student reflecon prompts, and visual tools that make learning more meaningful and more
                                                  connected. Grades PreK - 5
