KARESS ROLL LAMINATE

Karess , the multi-sensual laminate, adds a tactile dimension to the allure of print. It feels as delicate as a rose petal
and as luscious as silk. In reality, it is a durable, scuff-resistant ultra-matte laminate that will protect and enhance your
premium prints and packaging products. This OPP film is both an over-laminate and printable and is available in three
different finishes – Karess TM Original, Ebony , and Pearlescent Metalized. It is also available with an UltraGrip
TM
TM
®
adhesive for digitally printed projects.

HELPFUL HINT: BEST PRACTICES WHEN LAMINATING WITH KARESS FILMS

KARESS LAMINATE IS A THIN, 1.4 MIL OPP BASED FILM.
TM
• To work with thin films, you need to run the supply roll tensions similar or lower than a normal
PET based laminate.
• You will tell if you have too much tension if film is shrinking in width during the heating process.
THE FILM HAS A SILK-FEEL FINISH.
• As a result of the finish, heat doesn’t transfer as well to the film as with a normal matte
or gloss finish.
• You will need to run the temperature at 30 to 40°F hotter than you would a gloss PET film.
An approximate run temperature would be to start at 270°F (135°C) and increase it 10 - 20°F*.

• Due to a slower heat transfer, you may need to run the Karess film slower than a 1.7 mil gloss
PET film to get a good seal.
*As with any film, we recommend doing a lamination seal test on the first sheet out and then again after 25 sheets.
This will tell you if it is stuck to the print.
