   SMITH’S ‘BETTER-FOR-YOU’ CHIP
Smith’s has launched its first baked potato chip in Australia, using an oven-baked method rather than traditional frying. It has 50 per cent less fat compared to Smith’s Crinkle Cut chips.
Due to the recipe and baking method, Smith’s Oven Baked chips have an extra crunch and texture for those looking for an alternative to potato chips with a ‘better-for-you’ option.
PepsiCo ANZ lead nutrition scientist and dietitian Vered Moses said the company was excited to launch the new range as more Australians have health front of mind.
“A recent study revealed that 53 per cent of Australians are increasingly looking for healthier options in indulgent food and drink categories such as chips,”
said Moses.
“So, we wanted to create a product that catered to the needs of this consumer but

  COOPERS VINTAGE ALE CELEBRATION
Coopers Brewery is celebrating 20 years of its Vintage Ale, featuring
vitamins to help reduce tiredness and fatigue.
Parent company Frucor Suntory interviewed gamers
across Australia and gained new insights to help develop the products. It found gaming is a social sport, with most sessions lasting between one to three hours, and casual gamers look for beverages to gain a boost of energy. The study also found a crossover between gaming and sports, as 61 per cent of 18 to 39-year-old males engaged in both activities.
“Gaming is a massive cultural trend right now, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing many people to stay inside. Now restrictions are starting to ease and sport is returning, Maximus Game On could not launch at a better time,” said Maximus brand manager Rebecca Hantzis.
Maximus Game On includes two flavours – Blackcurrant and Lime – and has 18 per cent less sugar than the core Maximus range.

Leabrook barley – named after the former site of the sixth-generation Australian family-owned brewery.
The Leabrook barley is grown on the eastern slopes of Adelaide Hills and has been crafted into pale malt by Dr Doug Stewart. Crystal and wheat malt is then added to create the Vintage Ale with “a special twist”.
Coopers managing director Dr Tim Cooper said the company was supporting a long-term barley development program as part of the University of Adelaide, and the Leabrook barley was the latest variety released.
“We wanted to create something special to mark the 20th Vintage,” said Cooper.
“While there is a strong historic theme to this Vintage, we’ve also embraced some new world hops in its creation and our expert brewing team has benefited from our state-of-the-art malting plant.”
Coopers was located at Leabrook in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs from 1881 until 2001, when it moved to its current and expanded site at Regency Park.
The Coopers 2020 Vintage Ale is the 20th in the series of Vintage Ales, and has an alcohol level of 7.5 per cent ABV.
