The Full-Time Program at Danceworks Sydney is a goal oriented course, delivered within a nurturing environment, for students who show potential, are hard working and dedicated to pursuing a career in dance. The emphasis is on training young dancers to have secure and safe dance technique as a base, as well as developing each student’s artistry, musicality, versatility, resilience and self belief.
The goal setting aspect of the course is based on individual progression. Students are taught strategies to achieve their personal best. They are also taught injury prevention in order to sustain a long, healthy career. The number of students
excel in choreography, film work, musical theatre, commercial dance and teaching.

Practical dance classes per week: Dance performance techniques in Classical Ballet, Open Classes, Pointe, Pas de Deux, Repertoire, Variations, Contemporary Dance, Contact Improvisation, Choreography Skills, Theatre and Commercial Jazz, Pliates, Yoga, Stretch and Strength Body Conditioning, Private Coaching for Competitions, Audition
Preparation, Career Guidance and Planning, Health and Well Being. Electives – Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, JFH. Contact hours per day: Pre-Professional Courses - 30 hours per week (Pre Professional).
Aspire Courses - Hours vary depending on the student’s age, beginning at 8-10 hours per week for Aspire 1 (ages 10-12) increasing in age and contact hours in Aspire 2 & 3 Extension. Pre-requisites/entry requirements: All Pre-Professional students enrolling are required to attend:
• Physical evaluation - health and welfare, and history of injuries that may affect dance training; identification of issues and appropriate corrective measures
• Audition – assessment and evaluation of dance ability and movement skills to meet the rigours of the course
