Over 10 years ago Dossor established Result Group, creating a company with expertise in product identification machinery such as label and sleeving sys- tems, coding and marking equipment as well as reseal and reclose equipment, auto- mation and self-adhesive materials for the label printing industry.
Dossor is responsible for a number of packaging firsts in Australia, including the development and commercialisation of ‘instant win’ on-pack promotions (Nestle Kit Kash for KitKat brand), pioneering unique coding activations for Coca-Cola with Powerade and Coke’s mainstream brands, as well as being the first to advance the use of the adhesive reseal tabs on Wet Wipes by building a specialised convert- ing system. He continues to be instrumen- tal in transforming brands’ packaging into intelligent digital identities and has launched a number of smart packaging technologies to transform FMCG consumer experiences in the Australian market.
In recent years, he has turned his focus to bridging the gap between sustainabil- ity and food waste and has implemented technology to deliver on those key driv- ers. He is representing the packaging industry across various working groups including the AIP lead Save Food Packaging Consortium for the Fight Food Waste CRC, as well as being the AIP rep- resentative on the National GS1 Traceability Advisory Group and Steering committee, and APCO’s Materials Circularity Working Group.
Wayne Driver
Wayne Driver is managing director of SMC Corporation Australia New Zealand. Driver’s story is one of tenacity and passion. His history with SMC and the industry goes back 30 years, and for a large part of that time he has been at the company’s helm.
SMC is future driven and was the found- ing member of Open IIOT, a group which aims to demystify Industry 4.0 and advanc- ing the uptake of Internet of Things (IOT) technologies among local manufacturers.
Driver has ensured that customers deal with technically experienced and trained sales personnel who are focused on solv- ing their automation problems. Wayne pro- vides his team with the resources needed to ensure his team is equipped for the challenge.
He is an ambassador for Australian man- ufacturing and believes in the power of STEM, further accelerating the economy through sponsorships and internships. He is also an ongoing supporter of the APPMA and the broader machinery and manufac- turing sectors.
Driver is described by his peers as an exemplary leader who is visionary, and able to show strength and compassion in times of challenge.
Mark Emmett
Mark Emmett is the owner and CEO of HMPS – a proudly South Australian com- pany and original equipment manufac- turer of packaging machinery –which he has led for 30 years. Since developing the first Bag in Box machinery in the ‘80s, the company has grown to offer case packers, RSC, palletisers, carton erectors, crate packers, shrinkwrappers and sealers, pick-and-place applications and special- ised robotic solutions for prominent FMCG companies both locally and abroad. Ever the entrepreneur, Emmett believes anything is possible, which leads HMPS to develop particularly innovative solu- tions. Every project is bespoke and the company has won numerous innovation and industry awards.
Emmett is passionate about local produc- tion, investing in Australia and the indus- try. He purchased Propac Industrial in 2019 to offer customers value further up the pro- cessing chain with easy to use, high qual- ity vertical form fill seal machines.
He is a long-serving board member of the APPMA and a firm believer in the value of the machinery industry and the innova- tion it can offer. For Emmett, his colleagues say, nothing is an obstacle, everything is an opportunity and he applies this attitude in business and industry too. His unwav- ering belief in Australian manufacturing is infectious and inspirational.
Lachlan Feggans
Lachlan Feggans, director, Sustainability Asia-Pacific, CHEP, has worked with some of the most well-known circular business brands and understands what it takes to achieve circularity at scale. He has helped craft Brambles and its operating brand CHEP’s unique sustainability story posi- tioning the business as a pioneer of both the circular and sharing economies. This work has helped gain recognition from sus- tainability investor ratings, helped achieve APCO’s packaging excellence award in 2019, and produced a leading result in the new program from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Circulytics.
Feggans has helped develop CHEP’s 2025 sustainability vision and strategy which will see the business pioneer regenerative sup- ply chains for its customers and help deliver life’s essentials in a nature positive way.
He was nominated as a finalist in the 2020 APCO Sustainability Champion Award, which recognises individual commitment to a range of criteria, including dedication to embedding sustainability into organisational practice, leadership, outstanding performance, standout achievements and personal growth.
Richard Fine
Richard Fine’s legacy is co-founding BioPak, an award-winning and leading sup- plier of compostable single-use packaging which was born out of combining Fine’s production expertise with his passion for sustainability. He is one of the founding members of the Australasian Bioplastics Association and is actively involved in a number of industry working groups. For his contribution to the industry over 30 years, Fine has been recognised by the Australian Institute of Packaging with a Fellowship.
