                 CUSTOM CONVEYOR SOLUTIONS
✷ PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT
EXAIR’S Line Vac Air Operated Conveyors provide an efficient method of converting ordinary pipe, hose or tubes into powerful in-line conveyors. EXAIR also has the ability to customise and tailor Line Vacs to different specifications.
Certain processes may require customisations like unique sizes, shapes, and materials in order for the product to be a perfect fit for their system. EXAIR will collaborate with the customer to fabricate the best possible Line Vac solution for easy and efficient conveyance.
For customers with space limitations, smaller sizes can be created while still offering the same quality of conveyance. Situations that require a specific flange mounting option can be accommodated, and locations requiring custom mounting holes, brackets or inlet positions are also possible.
For
applications
where stock
aluminium, or 303
and 316 stainless steel won’t
work, alternate materials like
PVDF, OVC or PTFE can be used. Even
in extreme environments, EXAIR can produce both heavy duty or high temperature iterations to handle even the toughest material or conditions.
Stock Line Vac models include standard, heavy duty, high temperature, light duty and sanitary flange. All versions are able to be customised to a customer’s specific needs. For help solving any specific conveyance problems, contact Compressed Air Australia. All Line Vacs are CE compliant.
PRODUCT NEWS
     QUANTUM LEAP
The patented DuoDrive from NORD Drivesystems is an integrated gear unit/motor concept in a hygienic wash-down design that covers power ranges up to 3 kW. NORD says the seamless integration of the gear unit and motor into a drive system is a quantum leap and sets new standards for useability and efficiency.
NORD DuoDrive integrates a high-efficiency IE5+ synchronous motor into a single-stage helical gear unit with a system efficiency of up to 92 per cent.
The constant motor torque over a wide speed range allows for consistent version reduction and reduction of operating costs. Together with the simple plug-and-play commissioning, this results in a significant reduction in the total cost of ownership compared to existing drive systems.
DuoDrive is suitable for use in food and pharmaceutical industries as well as in intralogistics.
The patented geared motor is now available for powers of up to 3 kW with a continuous torque of up to 250 Nm and speeds of up to 1000 min-1 and covers gear unit speed ratios of i=3 to i=18.
DuoDrive is also compatible with NORD drive electronics and can be equipped with all common hollow shaft dimensions (20 to 40 mm) and flange versions (B5 and B14), or a torque arm. Depending on the customer requirements, Harting HAN connectors, M12 round plug connectors or a terminal strip are provided for the motor connection. Different options like encoder feedback or a holding brake are also possible with DuoDrive.

     ROBUST CONTROL CABLES
THANKS to their chemical resistance, as well as being highly ozone, UV and weather resistant in compliance with EN 50396 and HD 605 S2, the ÖLFLEX and UNITRONIC robust cables from Treotham are certified to be suitable for wet cleaning in the food and beverage industry in accordance with ECOLAB, European and North American standards.
When in contact with hot steam, the cables have a service life 10 times greater than normal rubber or polyurethane sheathed cable. This makes the robust series ideal for irdoor and outdoor use in machine tool building, food and beverage, the chemical industry, medical engineering, laundries, car wash systems, composting and sewage plants and agricultural machinery.
The ÖLFLEX robust range are flexible down to – 40C with a low-capacitance design. They are also suitable for use in fresh water down to 10m depth and water temperature of +40C according to EN 50565-2 and have a core insulation made of modified PP.
The UNITRONIC robust range are for data processing, measurement and control engineering, safety related systems and as electronics cable. They have a core insulation made of special halogen- free compound and low smoke density according to IEC 61034-2.
KP’S TRAY2TRAY INITIATIVE GAINS MOMENTUM
KLOCKNER Pentaplast (KP) is marking the second year of its award winning KP Tray2Tray initiative, which works towards creating a closed loop for food packaging. The
initiative, which aims to
create a closed loop for food
packaging, has already been
adopted at several of KP’s
sites, where Tray2Tray PET
flake is now used to produce
trays and rigid films.
With a strong global presence, KP is working to implement Tray2Tray in its operations at every site.
Its pilot site in Pravia,
Spain is already using up to 30 per cent Tray2Tray flake in a range of its thermoformed products for protein – with qualified
certifications from RecyClass.
Another five sites in the UK, Portugal, Spain and Germany are producing rigid films for form, fill and seal applications using Tray2Tray as part of their extrusion processes, with sister site INFIA also incorporating it into its processes and producing fruit punnets.
