PILZ INTROS FIRST BATCH SIZE 1 SAFETY RELAY
The myPNOZ safety relay from Pilz monitors safety functions such as E-Stop, safety gates, light curtains, two-hand controls IIIA/C and enabling switches, and consists of a head module with up to a maximum of eight expansion modules that can be freely combined.
In the corresponding online tool myPNOZ Creator, users can assemble a needs-based safety solution from a wide range of options, including the ability to switch between a logic view and a hardware view.
The option for visualisation and extensive documentation is also available via simulation. Depending on the safety requirement, users
interconnect safety functions such as E-Stop or safety gate using logic AND/OR connections.
The Creator online tool uses a symbol to indicate logical errors in the safety function sequence.
Users can add any further safety functions at will and also define details, such as delay-on energisation and delay-on de-energisation.
Users can check immediately whether a circuit or safety design meets their own requirements in the myPNOZ Creator, using the simulation in the online tool. As a result, errors can be reduced and commissioning accelerated.
In the myPNOZ Creator it is possible to define the number, type and logic connections between the safety functions, based on what the user needs for their plant.
The Creator uses these details to automatically calculate which modules are needed and the sequence in which they must be inserted.
The plug-in sequence results from the connection logic for the safety functions. Due to this internal combination logic, the process requires no programming knowledge.
The safety relay is delivered pre-assembled and ready to install, and each myPNOZ is given a unique type code, so that if necessary the same system configuration can be reordered at any time.
TRIMATT 1170 SALES CONTINUE TO SOAR
Shortly after its successful stint at AUSPACK, APPMA member Trimatt Engineering & Integrated Systems took its products to PacPrint, where the Trimatt 1170 digital colour printer for sustainable paper and cardboard packaging was a showstopper, with the company confirming that a number of machines had already been sold.
The Trimatt 1170 provides an all-purpose solution with its integrated feeder, adjustable receiving tray and vacuum conveyor, and can print on flat or erected cartons and thick cardboard with “no problem”, the company says, at heights of 100mm – ideal for food packaging. Paper bags with handles, boxes, C4 and padded envelopes, sealable lined pouches, fabric and serviettes are some other application possibilities for this printer.
Trimatt says the HP print engine produces “brilliant” colour using CMYK inks. Vibrant, waterproof, scratch resistant and light fast prints are produced “with ease” at speeds up to 27m per minute, jobs are set up “quickly” and photo quality results are produced from just four cents a print.
INNOVATIVE DRIVE CONCEPTS FOR WAREHOUSE AUTOMATION
As warehouse automation advances, Nord Drivesystems is delivering a comprehensive modular system for individual and scalable drive solutions for warehouse logistics applications.
The decentralised Nordac ON frequency inverter has been developed for horizontal conveyor technology requirements in warehousing, and the Nordac ON+ variant for interaction with the new IE5+ synchronous motor.
It is characterised by an integrated Ethernet interface, ease of maintenance through complete pluggability, and an extremely compact design
– providing an economical and intelligent plug-and- play solution for IIoT environments.
The compact, smart frequency inverter for decentralised use can be mounted directly on the
geared motor, and it covers lower power ranges of up to 2.2kW, while having an energy-saving function in the partial load range.
The integrated Ethernet interface reduces the effort for integration into modern automation systems and the required protocol can be easily set.
The Nordac Flex SK 205E series is also
ideally suited for applications in warehouse logistics, with the compact, decentralised and energy-efficient frequency inverter, offering a wide power range of up to 22kW, and enables energy savings over the entire load range.
The inverter can be used to control standard asynchronous, high-efficiency synchronous and brake motors. It can be installed close to the drive in
the field or motor-mounted, while power and data cable connections are available as plug-in versions.
The decentralised system enables short motor and encoder cables, as well as short supply cables to sensors. Encoder feedback can also be included for position-controlled transport systems.
