APPMA
welcomes
new members
The recent AUSPACK expo saw APPMA attract a slew of new members from the materials and equipment supply sectors.
As the packaging and processing machinery industry’s peak association, APPMA fulfills an important role providing networking opportunities for its membership and advancing members’ business interests within the wider industry.
“AUSPACK 2022 provided a great opportunity for our team to re-engage on a face-to-face basis with all of our exhibiting members to learn more about these businesses as well as reminding them of the membership services and benefits,” said APPMA CEO Michael Moran.
“It also provided the opportunity to introduce APPMA to a number of non-member exhibitors both during the pre-exhibition engagements as well as during the show,” he said.
“In our previous update we said to stay tuned for new member announcements; we are now pleased to officially welcome the following companies as new APPMA members: Automation & Packaging, Tapflo (Oceania), Industrial Dynamics, Pulford Air & Gas, HB-Technik, Select Equip, Detmold Group, OFI Weigh & Inspection Solutions.”

n addition to providing direct member services and events, APPMA is committed to developing relationships with other industry associations and service providers with the aim of further
safety, supply chain improvements and innovation, and sustainability within horticulture,” Moran said, adding his congratulations to the organiser AUSVEG for “putting on a great show which was very well attended”.
The event focused on how and where the horticulture world can connect and grow the industry. For those APPMA members attending and exhibiting, it was an opportunity to get up to speed with the latest in fresh produce supply chain solutions, and to gain insight into how the industry can adapt and grow post-pandemic in the Australasian region.
According to the show organisers, visitor analysis indicates a diverse cross-section of the produce industry attended Hort Connections, with those identifying as a grower/packer/processor forming the largest segment.
APPMA will once again support Hort Connections 2023, to be held in Adelaide. Moran said, “Fresh produce is a growing sector for our members and a show like this offers plenty of opportunities for APPMA, with speakers and exhibitors showcasing the latest research, technologies, and innovations to offer new perspectives on the future of Australasia’s horticulture industry.” ■

So says APPMA CEO Michael Moran, citing the recent Hort Connections Conference and Exhibition, run by AUSVEG in Brisbane, as a case in point.
Hort Connections is positioned as the biggest event in the ANZ fresh produce industry, and this year hosted 200 exhibiting companies across 12,000m2 of exhibition space.
APPMA members exhibiting included Case Packaging Systems, A&D Australasia, Multivac, Matthews Australasia, Omni, Opal, Propak Industries, Proseal, Result Group, Rhima, Summit Machinery, Tomra, Ulma, and Visy.
“Hort Connections showcased the latest research, technologies, and innovations in horticulture, with a number of APPMA member companies exhibiting. It was great to meet up again with the AUSVEG team, while also supporting our members,” Moran said.
“Key themes through the conference and on display included the changing retail landscape, food
