                TIGHT AS A DRUM
THE new SQ2 tight head drum from Schütz is a space-saving logistics tool. Due to its square cross-section, a total of nine drums fit onto an Australian standard pallet. The model is available, depending on the drum size, with a volume of 100 and 110 litres. Up to 990 litres of filling product can be transported per bundle. This equals up to an 80 per cent larger transport volume compared to round drums, which are currently used in the agrichemical industry in Australia.
The design of the new tight head drum allows easy handling for fillers and
the square body of the drum, the bottom and the top are round. There are two recesses in the stable top-ring, which serve as handles. The two rings nest when stacked to ensure that they stand securely. The drum body is made of high-quality HDPE, which has an optimal resistance to chemicals and stress cracking and is also approved for dangerous goods.
A “dry-break” valve at the upper end protects the user from contact with the filling product and simultaneously protects the product from contamination. The closed extraction system plus optimal EVOH barrier opens up numerous fields of application for the SQ2 tight head drum – for example in the agrichemical industry, but also for food and technically demanding liquids from the non-food sector.
COMPRESSORS GET A BOOST
KAESER Compressors has launched its latest generation boosters that cover the 7.5 to 22 kW drive power range. The new CN C series booster models are energy efficient, complete and compact turnkey systems that are ideal wherever high pressure compressed air is required such as PET bottle production, process air applications and nitrogen generation.
Powerful, compact and quiet, the CN C series come into play when, for technical reasons, specific points in a production process require a pressure higher than the network pressure. Wholly redesigned with a clever new layout, all application-relevant components are provided and configured ex-works for delivery of a complete turnkey system that is ready for immediate operation.
With a footprint of only 1.9 square metres, they are also compact keeping the space requirement to a minimum. Its sound enclosure keeps sound pressure levels down to as little as 71 dB(A).
These next generation boosters are more energy efficient with a premium efficiency (IE3) drive motor fitted as standard. This contributes to cost-effective energy usage, as does the dimensioned radial fan, which also serves to ensure reliable temperature control.
All maintenance-relevant components, such as cylinders and venting valves, filters, condensate separators and oil drainage/filler openings are easily accessible thanks to large

GOGLIO THE GO FOR COFFEE PACKING
Jet Technologies director Daniel Malki says changes in consumer behaviour due to COVID-19 have led to many coffee roasters re-evaluating their capital investments. “Up-and-coming coffee roasters have experienced a good level of demand from the retail, grocery, direct consumer, and suburban coffee shop markets,” Malki said.
“As Australia enters the economic recovery phase of the pandemic, with more businesses opening up even further, there is now a lot of optimism within the coffee trade for future growth.”
The Goglio G21 Coffee Packaging Machine is designed for roasters producing 1.5 tonnes or more of coffee per week.
Packaging made to order
using the G21 machine
equates to half the cost of
pre-made coffee bags, with
a wide range of laminate
structures in recyclable and
compostable options.
Malki said the accuracy of
the G21 is a standout
feature. “It has a two-option
dosing procedure, meaning
coffee roasters can choose
their dose size without
over-filling their bags and
forfeiting coffee supply. The
machine also includes
automatic packaging lines
for modified atmosphere packaging to preserve coffee freshness.”
A demonstration centre in Sydney is now open for roasters to see the G21 in action.

For efficient control and monitoring of the
compressor operation, the CN C series boosters come with an integrated Sigma Control 2 controller to automatically monitor all key values.
The CN C series of boosters from Kaeser Compressors are available with drive powers of 7.5 to 22 kW, and produce flow rates from 0.8 to 8.0 m3/ min. Initial pressure 3 to 13 bar, and final pressures 10 to 45 bar.

flow. If this option is selected and the vacuum is interrupted for any reason, the robot will come to an immediate halt and
an alert pop-up window will be displayed in the gripper software.
“Efficient packaging and palletising performance is crucial
to success for manufacturers, e-commerce and logistics
companies. The powerful and versatile VGP20 gripper enables
companies to automate these tasks, providing relief to workers while
improving overall productivity and quality,” Iversen said.
     ONROBOT’S FIRM GRIP
THE new OnRobot VGP20 electric vacuum gripper can handle payloads of 20 kilograms. OnRobot CEO Enrico Krog Iversen said it was the answer to customers’ request for a “cost- effective, easy-to-deploy vacuum gripper that can pick up bulky, heavy-duty payloads while being intelligent enough to handle a wide range of items, including those with irregular shapes and porous surfaces”.
While pneumatic grippers require compressed air to operate, the VGP20 is all-electric and ready to go out of the box, enabling companies to save up to 90 per cent
on operating and maintenance costs compared to traditional pneumatic gripper deployments.
Iversen said the VGP20 could take on applications that have traditionally been handled by powerful
pneumatic grippers at a fraction of
the cost and complexity.
The VGP20 provides unlimited
cup and airflow customisation and multichannel functionality, allowing it to be deployed on multiple items of different shapes and sizes.
The gripper provides an option to enable continuous monitoring of its air
