THURSTII FOR LOW ALCOHOL OPTIONS
New low-alcohol seltzer brand thurstii is appealing to the fitness market with its mantra “Don’t undo your hard work”. For founder Mike Green, an avid runner, he was looking for a beverage that would not undo his health regime.
“I like the idea of a drink, but that’s all I really need. It’s easy to have a couple of beers or wines each night, and that adds up to a lot of drinks each week,” he said.
The result is thurstti. The 500 millilitre can has just one standard measure of alcohol in a lemon
HEALTH SHOTS FROM JUICE LAB
The Food Revolution Group has launched its Juice Lab Super Shots, a range of all natural, plant-based pick-me-up tonics and shots. There are nine variants planned in the range, with the first three available in Coles and independent supermarkets.
CEO Tony Rowlinson said the shots were the first “all natural, plant-based” shots in the wellness beverage category. “It is a massive achievement. In the US, preventative foods and beverages is the fastest growing sector in the $4.8 billion market,” Rowlinson said.
The 60 millilitre wellness shot is designed to specifically target areas of the body so you can instantly feel the functional benefits.
The initial range is: Juice Lab Focus – with ginseng, guarana, calamansi and ginger; Juice Lab Immunity – ginseng, turmeric and ginger; and Juice Lab Digest – apple cider, acacia and wheatgrass.

It has also launched a Carbonated Wellness range to enter the $3 billion Australian carbonated market. Flavours are: Uplifting Sparkling Orange with Turmeric & Ginger; Recover Sparkling Cranberry with Sour Cherry & Charcoal; Focus Sparkling Lemon with Ginger & Ginseng; and Calm Sparkling Blueberry with Hemp & Chamomile.
The carbonated range is available from all major petrol and convenience outlets.
and sea salt seltzer.
“At five hundred millilitres the low alcohol content
– just 2.5 per cent – is enough to take the edge off and the large volume of hydration keeps me feeling clear and sharp. Increasing the hydration and lowering the alcohol was my solution,” Green says.
Thurstii can be bought as a 24-can case on its website for RRP $108.00.
LATEST NOOTROPIC WILL CLEAR YOUR MIND
The latest nootropics beverage offering, Ārepa, has been launched in Australia.
Ārepa’s patented drink formula is made from Neuroberries – a unique variety of blackcurrant – which has exceptional properties underlying its effects as a mood and cognitive enhancer.
Developed by a New Zealand food tech company, the

drink has been sold in New Zealand since 2017. Designed to remove ‘brain fog’ and support neurological function, consumers are advised to drink Ārepa in full, 20 minutes before an important moment or task.
Founder of Ārepa founder Angus Brown says the products have been clinically studied over the past seven years and are proven to keep you feeling calm and your thinking clear. The functional beverages are caffeine free and plant-based to enhance mental clarity.
“Our number one focus is that our brain drinks deliver a noticeable and positive felt-effect of mental clarity that is backed up with world-leading neuroscience,” Brown said.
Ārepa’s 300ml bottles of Performance (RRP $6.99) & Lite + Sparkling (RRP $5.99) are available from the chilled beverage aisle in the top 200 Coles stores across Australia.
Founder and CEO Vicki Lyon said RTD cocktails have come a long way in recent years. “In the past, most on the market were sugary, syrupy concoctions, loaded with chemical flavourings and in packages that landed up as landfill.
“Consumers today still value convenience, but they’re looking for cleaner products that allow them to enjoy a few drinks, without feeling like the health, wellness and environmental trade-offs are too onerous,” Lyon said.
The range includes: Margarita, Cosmopolitan, Pina Colada, and Espresso Martini. They are made with local ingredients and premium producers where possible, including Mr Black, St Ali Coffee, East Coast Beverages, the GO.OD Drop and other small batch distilleries.
Lyon also opted to use AstraPouch stand up pouches – yes, goon bags – that are made from recycled material and have an 80 per cent lower carbon footprint than their glass bottle equivalent.
“They look good, are easy to carry, fridge friendly, easy to pour and stay fresh for up to six weeks, and that is with fresh limes and no added sugar.”
Sophisticated Cocktail Co pouches are sold online and at selected independent alcohol stores at RRP $59-$89.
