    RISING TO THE FALL
Simpro NZ manufactures high lift drum lifter/tippers, increasing efficiency and safety while resolving many of the hassles that elevated hoppers can cause.
When a hopper is high off the ground, some companies install a mezzanine floor so materials lifted to the platform can be measured or weighed by an operator working at height. Personnel have to climb up ladders to get there, forklifts have to lift pallets on to the floor, special anti-fall gates must be installed, and replacement loads have to be coordinated to when the forklift is available.
Rob Mileham from Simpro’s Australian distributor Pack King says it is the best choice for the local market.
“When you look at the options for 200 litre steel drum lifter/tippers in Australia, there is really only one choice, and that is to go with Simpro New Zealand. They have provided companies in New Zealand and Australia with drum lifter/tippers since 1986, and they have the expertise to reach the heights that very few others are able to.
“They are also able to customise to exactly suit their customer's needs, so if you want to lift and tip a drum, bin or a specially fabricated vessel, then Simpro can do it,” Mileham said.
The system allows for all operations to be performed at ground level and when personnel are available, removing the risks that come with working at height.
Batches can be weighed and fed into a drum or bin according to the batch size, then left by the drum lifter/tipper, ready to be raised and dumped into the hopper when required.

 A SIMPAL PALLETISING SOLUTION
AUSTRALIS Engineering has released simPAL, a robotic palletising system to assist Australian manufacturers that are struggling to meet demands with existing palletising set-ups in the COVID-19 environment.
The robotic system is modular with hardware and Australis’ proprietary software, which can be configured to tailor for different palletising requirements. The Australian
designed, manufactured, programmed, and supported system is flexibly designed to adapt as any business grows.
SimPAL provides single and double palletising, along with pallet stacking and pallet wrapping. The system also has pallet infeed or outfeed conveyors and a slip sheeter, while being simple to program own pallet patterns or product changes.
    FAST AND ACCURATE DETECTION
ASSURANCE GDS Cronobacter Tq II detects Cronobacter spp in infant formula, ingredients, and environmental samples in as little as 22 hours.
Like other Assurance GDS Assays, the Cronobacter assay uses the PickPen Immunogenetic separation (IMS) technology to separate and concentrate the target
organism enrichment. This significantly improves the sensitivity and
specificity of the assay.
After the IMS step, the concentrated sample is transferred to the amplification tubes for PCR analysis, with each tube containing all the reagents in a ready to use pellet. Key features are:
• results in 22-26 hours;
• combined enrichment for Cronobacter and Salmonella saving time and reducing labour costs;
• simple one step enrichment procedure;
• use of PickPen IMS to improve accuracy
and prevent inhibition;
• AOAC Performance Tested Method
Certificate Number: 121903; and
• MicroVal Certificate Number: 2017LR77.
Use GDS Assurance to test key food pathogens including Salmonella spp, Listeria spp, Listeria monocytogenes, E.coli O157:H7 (EHEC) and Shiga toxin-producing E.coli (STEC) with confidence. The Cronobacter is available from AMSL Scientific.
   CLEAN AND BREATHE EASY
CLEAN Stream Technologies has introduced the new EnviroKlenz Air System Plus to Australia and New Zealand following the success of hygiene-sensitive products it produces locally.
The system combines ultraviolet UVC germicidal irradiation with safe and effective earth mineral technology.
The latest German- made and US patented technology, with UV bulbs and internal cleaning system, provides a proven safe and effective technology to capture and neutralise airborne toxins and noxious gases, particulates, allergens, bacteria, viruses, and other allergy triggers.
EnviroKlenz has been tested and validated by Intertek Labs to achieve a 99.9
neutralisation rate of viruses down to 0.025 microns for a broad spectrum of viruses. It is also 99.9 per cent effective in neutralisation of gram-negative bacteria (E. coli) and 99.9 per cent effective against gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus epidermidis).
Clean Stream Technologies general manager Scott Whittaker said: “Sometimes the issue is excluding
potential carriers of risk factors such as contagious conditions; sometimes the issue is to exclude the risk factors such as vehicle pollution, bushfire smoke and widespread allergens including pollen.”
Each EnviroKlenz Air System Plus unit is effective over individual areas up to 93 square metres. The quiet units (54-64 dB) can be used in multiple installations to address clean air challenges.
