Choreocraft
This dance composition method is the creation of Kenneth Norman, whose career as a dancer and choreographer embraced dance companies, television and musical theatre. A former scholarship student at the Royal Ballet School and dancer with the Royal Ballet in London, Norman’s interest in developing a method of teaching choreography was inspired by his involvement in Benesh Dance Notation.
The ChoreoCraft method formed an integral part of the ballet and modern dance syllabus created by Kenneth and his wife Jacqui Johnson for the South Australian Education Department and was taught extensively throughout suburban and country schools for a number of years.

Classical Dance
Australia (CDA)
Classical Dance Australia was founded by John Byrne in 2015. His aim was to provide teachers with a solid training base for their vocational students and to promote a pure classical ballet syllabus of depth and quality. Two vocational levels have been produced to date. Syllabus Books, CD’s and DVD’s are available for these two syllabi as well as associated training materials, namely two DVD’s relating to “Posture Placement and the Basic Elements of Technique’” and “The Art and Anatomy of Port de Bras.” The syllabus is based on the principles of the Vaganova system, the universal choice for vocational training in the world’s leading schools. The music has been written or chosen from other sources
There are 10 grades in all: Levels 1-5 for FEBRUARY / MARCH 2020 WWW.DANCEAUSTRALIA.COM.AU | 59
