Continuing to impress
JBS Australia recently purchased a new set of Schmitz Cargobull refrigerated trailers to safely transport their premium quality food products.
GLOBAL protein giant JBS has an impressive footprint in Australia through its JBS Foods Australia division. Ranked second on the Food & Drink Business Australia’s Top 100 Food & Drink Companies report for the fourth year in a row, it is the country’s largest meat processing company as well as largest manufacturer of ham, bacon, salami, and deli meats.
Its transportation division works across the entire business, providing logistical structure, transporting cattle, shipping containers, bulk products in tippers, and palletised refrigerated products.
The JBS fleet includes more than 40 prime movers and more than 100 trailers that travel a combined seven million kilometres per year.
When the company needed new refrigerated B-double trailers, JBS manager of logistics David Wardle approached Schmitz Cargobull’s northern New South Wales and Queensland dealer, The Brown and Hurley Group.
The Brown and Hurley Group key account manager Trevor
Cox says Wardle’s contact was the perfect example of the saying, ‘timing is everything’.
“We had the perfect B-double Schmitz Cargobull set ready to go for the JBS fleet. The trailer set had been commissioned for the 2021 Brisbane Truck Show and to then be part of our six-week roadshow to celebrate seventy-five years of The Brown and Hurly Group,” Cox says.
Cox explains that food transport requires the highest standard of hygiene, cleanliness and temperature control, and Schmitz Cargobull’s technology sets it apart from its competitors.
“The refrigerated bodies are based on state of art Ferroplast technology, which provide unparalleled thermal efficiencies,” he says.
Key features include: • NX17 high density
polyurethane hard foam
insulation;
• highly resistant to corrosion; • unequalled thermal
efficiencies;
• reduced thermal expansion;
• higher penetration resistance; • greater strength;
  ABOVE & BELOW: JBS’ new Schmitz Cargobull B-double trailers are built to withstand the more than seven million kilometres its fleet covers every year.
