Return of Fespa BBQ welcomed by all
With restrictions lifting in Victoria, the return of Fespa Australia's annual barbeque was warmly welcomed by the industry, with 60 printers enjoying a convivial evening.
Held at the at Melbourne's Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club, which offers panoramic views across the Yarra, the barbeque
saw industry professionals enjoy the networking, camaraderie, and food and beverages on offer.
“Our industry thrives on these face-to-face business connections and friendships, which we
were starved of during the long lockdown in Victoria. However, most of us made up for lost time on Wednesday night,” said Nigel Davies, president, Fespa. “It
was a pleasure to be amongst
the enthusiasm throughout the evening - a good start to what we hope will become our new normal.”
The event saw some welcome additions to the crowd. “As a new member of Fespa Australia, I had
a great night and enjoyed it very much. I met a whole host of people, and felt very welcomed,” said Daniel Watts of Pattern Room.
“This is the first time I
attended this event, and there is
no doubt that a great night was 5 had by all,” said Ben Eaton from Starleaton. “Great to connect
with so many whom I haven’t
seen for over two years.”
“After so many challenges
over the last couple of years, it
was especially great to see each
other again and meet with people
from all parts of the industry to
hear their news and share their
stories,” said Matt Ashman, Durst Oceania. “If this barbeque was
anything to go by, then I can’t 7 wait to attend the next event in
Sydney next month.”
Fespa Australia thanked Cactus Imaging, Kissel &
Wolf, Mulford Plastics, Spicers and Esko for their ongoing support and sponsorship of the event. Kissel & Wolf supplied the personalised stubbie holders for all guests, a perfect accompaniment for keeping the beer cold on a warm night.
The Melbourne event was
followed by a Sydney Fespa 9 evening a month later. 21
