LIA Victoria reveals Graduates of Year
Corné Mostert from Norwood Industries in Hallam took out the 2021
LIA Victoria Graduate of the Year Award, with Mostert presented with the award at the association’s first post-Covid in-person event.
The evening also saw the 2020 Graduate of the Year award presented to Matilda Milligan from Fildes. The event was hosted at Fujifilm, by LIA Victoria committee member Brett Maishman, who himself is a former LIA Heidelberg Australia Graduate of the Year.
The gathering marked the reinvigoration of the Victorian chapter of the industry’s association for “all people
in print”, and was held at Fujifilm Business Innovation in Richmond, combined with a technical presentation covering the latest trends and innovations from Fujifilm.

Along with Milligan, the other 2020 Graduate of the Year finalists were Jessica Daniels from Nathalia Printers, and Amel Bilali and Mangaljit Singh, both from Amcor Flexibles in Preston.
Mostert, from Norwood Industries in Hallam took out the 2021 Award, from a field which also included Jake Lovell from Willprint in Shepparton, and Nick Monshing from North East Media in Wangaratta.
Black, whose own career has focused heavily on training and career development,
said Milligan and Mostert demonstrated impressive achievements over the
course of their training and outstanding potential as future industry leaders. He said,
“The candidates for both the 2020 and 2021 Awards were enormously impressive.” 21

The technical session was followed by a networking event at which the 2020 and 2021 LIA Heidelberg Australia Graduate of the Year Awards were presented by LIA Victoria president, Robert
