    Innovative HVAC research
Attendees will hear about current HVACR research including outcomes.
A PANEL SESSION will be held on day three looking into innovation and the research needs of the HVAC sector.
Attendees will hear from representatives of leading Australian education and research insti- tutions talk about the current research being un- dertaken in HVACR.
It will include results, outcomes and future re- search directions, including a Q&A opportunity for industry participants to explore current re- search needs.
Panellists include CCN award winner, Julian Hudson, managing director of Glaciem Cooling. Hudson has more than 35 years experience in the design, construction, manufacturing and in- stallation of commercial and industrial refriger- ation plant and equipment.
He specialises in natural refrigerants and is the founder of Glaciem Cooling.
Associate Professor Wendy Miller from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tech- nology in Queensland is also a panellist.
Miller will talk about the benefits of paramet- ric design and future climate modelling to opti- mise a building’s envelope and HVAC loads.
She initiates and conducts industry and govern- ment funded socio-technical research in energy ef-

Her areas of interest and research include re- silient cooling, living laboratories, electronic building passports, building regulation and compliance, natural ventilation, and indoor en- vironment quality.
The final panellist is CSIRO energy efficiency leader, Dr Stephen White, who leads energy effi- ciency research at CSIRO.
He has played a leadership role in the start-up of several companies, and the design of award- winning air conditioning systems.
