SICK SIMULATES DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION FOR FOOD SECTOR
www.sick.com/au/en
STAND B145
On SICK’s stand at AUSPACK, visitors will be taken on a ‘Digital Transformation’ journey via the simulated replication of a small food and beverage manufacturer.
SICK will showcase an end-to-end product line approach starting at the ‘kitchen’, or processing plant, moving through primary packaging, secondary packaging, and end-of-line packaging.
Each section will provide functioning examples of solutions for quality control, detection and measurement, track and trace, and safety.
As a visitor, you will be able to explore how SICK
can capture data from the sensor level,
provide transparency through live analytics that will allow you to monitor performance of each section, and make real-time decisions that will improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Visitors to SICK’s stand will experience: instrumentation for machine safety, machine vision, asset monitoring, identification, smart sensing, and IO link.
Technology that will be showcased includes: flexible automation conveyor, UR robot, TT conveyor, LiveConnect and Asset Hub.
MATTHEWS’ SOLUTIONS FOCUS ON BUSINESS EFFICIENCY

Improving business efficiencies and more digitally connected offerings will be a focus of the solutions and equipment Matthews displays at AUSPACK 2022.
Matthews CEO Mark Dingley said, “While adapting to the future has always been important for Australian manufacturers, and a strong focus for Matthews, the past two years have made it imperative.”
Dingley said the solutions that Matthews will demonstrate also highlight two other learnings from the pandemic: collaboration and technology.
“GS1 Australia will be on our stand, which will be a great opportunity for customers to ask specific questions – in fact any visitors to the show who have questions about Australia’s barcode standards. I expect many people will have questions about 2D barcoding, the advantages, how to implement it and so forth.
“Among the many technologies Matthews will demonstrate is its new iDSnet platform, including production dashboard screens, to demonstrate improved operational efficiency tools as well as enhanced back to base monitoring and remote support tools to improve production up time, while maintaining the significant cost-saving advantages of iDSnet’s Package Code Management solution. iDSnet will also show the latest in Australian traceability technology that connects the ‘Physical to Digital’ experience brand owners are now looking for in connecting to consumers for brand engagement and proof of provenance.
“We’ll also have X-Ray solutions, including a Combination Check weigh & Metal detection, Laser QR Code marking, Linx & Mperia range of small and large character inkjet printing, Thermal Transfer Overprinting, Label Printer Applicators and barcode

“And I encourage everyone to join us at Matthews’ Chameleon Bar, which will open from 3:30pm. Sharing a relaxing drink is a great way to discuss how businesses can use the latest technologies for their future sustainability.”
STAND view a live demonstration of GS1 Digital Link-enabled QR codes, which D140 allow the automated collection of data down the supply chain.
This data can then be shared with consumers to authenticate the food’s precise origin and engage with the brand through an open platform smartphone scan. No special apps are necessary, and both business customers and end consumers can gather the data required without the need for any change to devices either smartphone or industrial scanner.
Result and GS1 will show how the Active Digital Identity embedded in the QR code labels ensures each one is unique and traceable – an important innovation in combatting all manner of food fraud. The labels carry critical international traceability data, based on GS1 current standards, covering consumer pack units, cases and pallet codes, as well as time and temperature logging, which is captured through the EVRYTHNG Product Cloud database.
