Chapter 2

BEEP BEEP, HONK HONK, huge orange lights flashed as
they reversed into their loading bays, “BACK IT UP

LADS”. All the lorries were being loaded at the
distribution centres and then heading to the

supermarket, so that all the people could do their
shopping.

Harry stopped running after Polly, he was confused. In

the world he had just left, there wasn’t enough loo roll
or food. It must be true because Harry had seen
pictures of empty shelves on the telly and on his mum’s

phone.

Now, as he watched the lorries being filled up, he
thought back to those images from the TV. He didn’t
know what to believe.

It made him feel funny inside, as if his brain had spilt

into two parts, fighting about something they couldn’t
agree on. It felt strange.
