as an admission of anyone's guilt. It is cost-effective for all
parties involved to settle a case rather than go to trial. Even
the Courts require parties to participate in mandatory settle-
ment conferences before going to trial.
There are some cases that are complex, complicated and
can only be resolved by going to trial. The Michael Jackson
case, however, was not one of these. This case only involved
one child making the accusation of child molestation, and the
only thing this father wanted was money. Settling this case
allowed Michael Jackson the opportunity to put an end to this
horrible nightmare that had caused him a great deal of grief,
pain, suffering and humiliation. It also meant that his personal
life would not be aired before millions of people across the
world, any more than already had been done. Settling allowed
him to be free, to move on with his life and put the entire mat-
ter behind him.
