2015 LIVES AND WORKS IN BROKLYN, NEW YORK
ly that I am able to express myself and to create - I love working with my hands and seeing the result of the work I put in.
How would you compare the New York art world with where you are originally from?
I think that in New York the doors are less tightly closed to artists without friends in the government cultural field - unlike in France. This might be just due to the fact that there is no ministry of cul- ture here. I feel that the opinions and views of the people are still valued here, and not just government paid art critics’ opinions.
How did Bushwick change since you moved here?
Ever since I moved here I have been living in Bushwick and I love this neighborhood. I moved 3 years ago only, so I can’t really go into much detail about the changes this neighborhood went through - but I did notice a steady pull towards the area with more and more young and international people moving here, including many artists. I’m just not sure how this will work out with the L train shutdown and I sense concern within the community.
