In simple terms, a sentence is a set of words that contains subject and
predicate.
You know very well that,
(i) Each sentence begins with a capital letter.
(ii) Each sentence ends with a full stop (.).
sneha is a good girl (wrong)
Sneha is a good girl. (right)
Read the below sentences.
Rohan loves ice cream.
His brother is a cricketer.
I am going to sleep.
Sania is an obedient girl.
The above sentences state a fact or declare something. Such sentences
are called declarative sentences.
A declarative sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.
Now, read the below sentences.
Is that your book?
What are you eating?
How will you travel?
Can you help me?
The above sentences ask questions. Such sentences are called interrogative
sentences. An interrogative sentence asks a question. It begins with a capital
letter and ends with a question mark (?).
