22. Letter and

Application Writing

We write letters to communicate information, ideas, suggestions, request,

etc. Writing interesting letter is a skill.

There are two types of letters :

Informal Letters

When you write a letter to your family members and friends, this is called

informal letters.

1. Letter to the father about the well-being of the family:

20th December, 20XX

75, Defence Colony,

South Extension,

Lucknow.

My dear father,

We are quite well here. We hope you are also the same, we got your letter

yesterday. Uma and I are attending school regularly. Next month our tests are due.

We are working hard for them.

Mummy helps us in our homework daily. Please come soon. We hope you will
take us on a picnic after the tests.
