The Hunt Goes On…

Peter Fagan’s Colour Box Limited was responsible for

creating the Founder Bear and he claims the copyright as
the original artist. He ceased trading in 2000. Peter

managed to regain some of the assets and set up another

company to continue, but it was not the success that the

factory had been without his marketing director & wife.

There is a Peter Fagan Collectors Club that the Author

joined to gain access to any information he could find
through its members, hoping to learn more from Peter.

A Collectors Event was held at Ford near Berwick on 20 th
st
& 21 October and he attended as a member. It was
unfortunate that so much time had passed and that Peter

was divorced. For things bear related Frances had been
responsible for his high profile from the start. Lucy grew

up and went to university. Peter offered to contact Lucy

on behalf of the ‘Hunters.’ Frances met him to explain.

There are collectors that recall many of the auctions held

and who have records that they were trying to find for me

before the event. As soon as there’s another lead it will
be followed up swiftly here in UK and/or abroad in USA.

The latest lead was the Lucy Trust auctions invitation.
