The Monkey and the Dolphin 6
A sailor on a long voyage, brought a monkey to amuse him
while onboard. As he sailed the coast of Greece,a violent storm
came and off wrecked the ship The sailor, his monkey, and all a
crew had to swim for their lives.A dolphin saw the monkey
struggling with the waves.Thinking he was a man came and
placed himself under him,to take him back to safety of the
shore. When the Dolphin was in sight of land not far from
Athens,he asked the monkey if he was an Athenian. The
monkey said that he was,and that he was descended from one
of the most noble families in that city. Then dolphin asked if
he knew the Piraeus(the famous harbor of Athens).Thinking
that Piraeus was man,the monkey said that he knew him very
well and that he was an intimate friend. The dolphin, upset
with the lie, dipped the monkey under the water and drowned
him.
