              Charlotte is the largest city in the state of North Carolina, the 20th largest city in the United States, and the
              second largest city in the Southeastern United States, just behind Jacksonville, Florida. Charlotte is the
              third fastest-growing major city in the United States. Nicknamed the Queen City, Charlotte was named in
              honor of the German Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, also known as Queen Charlotte of
              Mecklenburg when she became queen consort of King George III.

              HOTEL/CHARLOTTE CONVENTION CENTER
              All conference activities for this year’s AM3D and IDETC/CIE will be held in the Charlotte Convention
              Center located at 501 S College St, Charlotte, NC 28202. ASME has secured a block of sleeping rooms at
              the adjacent Westin Charlotte Hotel located at 601 S College St, Charlotte, NC 28202, (704) 375-2600.
              Attendees staying at the Westin, can access the convention center, which is directly across from the hotel.


              NAME BADGES
              Please wear your name badge at all times. Admission to all conference functions will be approved by either
              a code on your badge or a ticket. Your badge also provides a helpful introduction to other attendees.



              TICKETED FUNCTIONS/ITEMS
              Access to ALL conference functions, such as the reception, workshops, and the conference luncheons, is
              confirmed by a chip in your registration badge. If you wish to bring a guest to the reception, you must
              purchase a ticket in advance. For questions regarding any possible ticketed items, you can ask a
              conference representative located in the registration area.

              AUTHOR PRACTICE ROOM

              Room 215 located on the Meeting Level will serve as the author practice room from 7:00am to 5:00pm on

              Monday and Tuesday and from 7:00am to 3:00pm on Wednesday. An LCD projector and screen will be
              available for authors to practice their presentations.
