Feedback is the information or criticism a student receives once they have

completed a job to improve their weaknesses (Can & Walker, 2010). However, I think

that feedback is necessary because it helps students learn from their own mistakes, it
increases the desire to continue learning and it increases student confidence.

First of all, feedback on academic writing helps students learn from their own mistakes.
Due to feedback, students look at their mistakes and analyze them. In this way they

pretend not to make the same mistake again. According to the University of Reading,

feedback improves learning and student’s retention.

Another reason why feedback on academic writing is important is that the student

increases the desire to continue learning. According to Race wrote that feedback is
connected to an important capability if competence. The student is aware that if he makes

mistakes his grades will be lower. Afterwards, they try to learn by themselves and then

they will have better grades than before.

Finally, it increases the confidence of the student, in themselves. The student, after

learning from his mistakes, knows that he will not make the same mistake and therefore
feels more confident thanks to the feedback. Students known that receiving feedback is

important to improve their writing on academic writing and it provides self-confidence to

each student. (Caffarella, 2010)

In conclusion, feedback on academic writing is very important and necessary for

students to learn. Feedback is an advantage for students because they can learn from their
own mistakes, it increases the desire to continue learning and it increases student

confidence.
