*The Aspen Institute selected Linn State Technical College as one of the 120 best community
colleges in the nation.
*Tony DeBoeuf, Powersports Technology and Electric Power Generation Technology Department
Chair, received the 2012 Governor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
*Linn State Technical College is collaborating with the Missouri Health Professions Consortium to
develop and deliver instruction, education, and training for Missouri's health-related workforce.
The Consortium will establish relationships with hospitals, businesses, and industry to enhance the
economy and workforce training and education within regions of Missouri.
*Linn State Technical College hosted the 2011 Missouri State Postsecondary Agricultural Student
(PAS) Conference.
*In September, LSTC received a U.S. Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Assistance
Community College and Career Training Grant, as a subcontractor, called the MoHealthWINs
grant in September 2011 .
*Bruce Meffert, Nuclear Technology Department Chair, recently passed the Certified Health
Physicist Exam Part I and Part II. The American Board of Health Physics (ABHP) offered him
membership to be a Certified Health Physicist.
*Linda Franchini, Electronics Engineering Technology Instructor, is serving as a consultant to Dr
Steve Hsiung, Professor of Engineering Technology at Old Dominion, on his project titled
"Dissemination of Microprocessor Courses through Classroom and Interactive Cyber-Enabled
Technologies".
*The Design Drafting Technology program received certification on January 24, 2012 through
August 31, 2012 at the Design Drafter Level.
*Marlene Medin, Physical Therapist Assistant Department Chair, received the Missouri Physical
Therapy Association Outstanding Service Award in Education.
*The Automotive Collision Technology program as of March 15,2012 continues to meet the
requirements for the National Automotive Technician Education Foundadtion (NATEF) Master
Accreditation - the highest level of achievement recognized by NATEF.
