Meet the Chef

eronica Fox graduated from Johnson & Wales

V University in Providence, Rhode Island in 2014.

Shaped by the thriving food scene of this busy little
city in the smallest state in the union, product quality,

presentation, and above all, love and passion became

paramount as she sought to jump start her career

outside the halls and labs of the Cuisinart Center for

Culinary Excellence. The self-described coffee fanatic

found a home at a local café and quickly climbed the

ranks as her enthusiasm and dedication to create the

most delicious and comforting food possible with the

                                              tools and resources became apparent.
However, after a few of the most severe winter

in years, the warm weather and open spaces of the

Lone Star State were calling her. Most recently, Veronica has been working under

the critically acclaimed and nationally celebrated chef, Johnny Hernandez. She is

chef at his first brick and mortar restaurant La Gloria in the historic Pearl dis-

trict. The fresh, authentic, made-from-scratch daily Mexican cuisine has pushed

her to expand her horizons and hone her skills. Now, armed with the experience
of working in one of the best and busiest restaurants in San Antonio, she is excited

to bring her passion to the Sam Houston Community Center.
