When food goes into a landfill, it
decomposes anaerobically (without
oxygen), and produces methane gas.
If not captured for energy use, this gas
pollutes our environment and burns
large holes in the ozone layer over New
Zealand.
Methane gas affects the quality of our air, and
speeds up global climate change, which bring on
intense storms and cleansings from
Papatuanuku to restore balance. Methane is
20 times more potent than the carbon pollution
from our cars!
