Director of Alpine Programs
Here we go! The snow guns are turned on and we’re ready to enjoy another great season at Georgian Peaks. I hope everyone had a fun and active summer and
are ready for the upcoming winter.
Staff our greatest strength
As I reflect, I think of how lucky we are to have such committed Staff. Our Staff take holidays from regular jobs and sacrifice each weekend to work in our programs. The other interesting fact about our staff is that 80% come from our own membership base. This keeps retired athletes at the Club with family and friends once they have outgrown the programs.
We have Employees that come from all walks of life and travel every weekend to enjoy the winter and bring their passion of skiing to help teach and coach our membership.
Every season we go through the process of hiring and rehiring Staff. It is a major undertaking for the Alpine administration. We roughly hire and rehire 250 Alpine Staff that have to be trained and licenced with continuing education. Licencing and steps required for the conditions of employment take many hours with follow up, recording and education to make sure our Alpine Staff is ready for the upcoming season.
Together we will deliver the best possible experience for all program participants. Our goal is to train our Staff to their top potential and deliver exceptional customer service that is consistent with fun and fair play. I look forward to working with the Alpine Management Team and together we look forward to exceeding your expectations.

• Heather Metzger – U14-U16 O-Cup Head Coach
• Nicole Burgess– U14 O-Cup Head Coach
• Cara Williams - U10, U12, U14 & U16
SOD Head Coach

Alpine Event Coordinator
Alumni at Georgian Peaks
For those who have been following the updates, you have seen that Georgian Peaks will be hosting the Ladies Giant Slalom NorAm in January 2019. This event is exciting as it brings the next generation of athletes together in hopes of reaching the next level... THE WORLD CUP!
On January 2nd and 3rd we will have some of the best racing down Rogers. Our own Ali Nullmeyer is back from injury and will be competing. Along with Ali, we will also have our provincial level skiers Camryn Metzger, Maddy Sullivan and Ashley Campbell competing with the hopes of some great results in their own backyard. This is such a great opportunity for the Club’s rich racing history and an amazing experience for our young upcoming racers. Continue to follow our updates as we get closer to the event.
Unfortunately, Candace Crawford sustained an injury during the season opener in Solden and will not be racing at home. We wish Candace a speedy recovery.
Because this is such a high-profile event, we would like to get our membership involved. We will need an abundance of Volunteers to help provide a well-run race. This will include gate keepers, course crew and many other support positions. If you are interested, please contact alpine@georgianpeaks.com to sign up for an on- hill position.
Fitness and skiing
As we go into the season, we hope that all program participants stayed active throughout the summer. Injury prevention is a top priority and having an athlete that is fit
