FINANCIAL AWARDS
Financial Awards
Tuition awards are applied against tuition fees, which are paid in Swiss Francs. Travel awards are funded in Canadian dollars and are applied to optional trips costs, which are charged in Canadian currency. Travel awards are designed to enable students to travel to more destinations with their peers and are inspired by our Founder Leonard Wilde’s legacy of having bridged the gap for students who were short of travel funds in the early years.
The best advice to families who are vying for assistance is to apply as early as possible. The Awards Committee makes its decisions commencing with the November application deadline pool of applicants until such time that all funding has been awarded. Following the application deadline in February, please contact the Director of Admissions about the availability of funding before commencing an award application.
Awards
Thanks to generous members of our community, every year, significant funds are awarded—with the goal of helping families bridge the financial gap. A number of prestigious named awards are also available to help make NJC a reality:
● The Marcel Jeanneret Scholarship Fund*
● The Sarah MacDonald Gouin Family Travel Bursary
● The SavMar Award
Please visit our website throughout the academic year for details and updates about 2021-22 Financial Awards.
*The Marcel Jeanneret Scholarship Fund
Monsieur Jeanneret served NJC as President of the Conseil de fondation for an extraordinary span of nearly twenty years (1987-2006). Respected by the many staff and committee members who had the pleasure of working with him, Monsieur Jeanneret is known as a diligent and kind colleague, whose exemplary service has left an indelible mark on the school’s rich history. The Fund was established in 2016 by a group of past Canadian Advisory Committee Chairs: David Binet, Max Thompson, Hugh Hall and Gordon Piercey along with Ms. Sally Morris. In total, this fund will enable the Awards Committee to grant $150,000 in funds to promising students over 5 years. A total of $30,000 will be awarded annually on the basis of academic ability, personal merit, leadership qualities, and financial need.
