Quotation

A quotation conclusion can help you bring your point home solidly

and effectively. For the strongest effect, make the quotation your
closing statement.

Example of a Quotation Conclusion

Breaking up with my ex was difficult, but it has given me the

freedom to move on after too many broken promises and too many second
chances. I should have followed the advice of poet and writer Maya

Angelou, who said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them

the first time.”

Exercise 6-5 Ending with a Quotation

Write a conclusion that ends in a quotation. Use a topic and quotation

of your own choosing, or choose from the list that follows.
