Real-World Comparison-Contrast: Going the Extra Mile
You are applying for a small-business startup grant for the business of
your choice. The application asks you to compare your business to
other, similar businesses and show how yours meets a need or needs
in the community that are not filled by other businesses in the same
category. In other words, if you are opening a dry cleaning shop, how
is it different from all the others? Do you deliver to meet the needs of
senior citizens or busy working people? Are your hours extended to
meet a need that other dry cleaners do not meet? Do you offer some
other service that other dry cleaners do not? Dry cleaning is just an
example; choose any business you wish, and write an application for
the grant.
