The Basic Pattern
1 Use the basic pattern of present-tense
subject-verb agreement.
Most subject-verb agreement problems occur in the present tense. To
find out why, we need to look at the pattern that present tense verbs
follow. Let’s begin by looking at a present-tense verb as it moves
through the first, second, and third person.
Singular Plural
First person I walk we walk
Second person you walk you walk
Third person he, she, it walks they walk
