In this chapter, you will learn how to
1 Identify and correct unnecessary shifts in tense or provide
necessary tense shifts.
2 Identify and use active and passive voice or correct
unnecessary shifts in voice.
To drive a car with a manual transmission, you
need to know exactly when to shift. The same is
true of verb tense and voice. In this chapter , you
learn to correct unnecessary shifts from past to
present tense and to make necessary shifts into
the past perfect tense. You also learn to recognize
active voice and passive voice and to correct
unnecessary shifts between the two.
