feel, fill

Feel means to touch or to experience

emotions. Some writers confuse it with fill,

                                 which means to make full.

I feel there are better ways to fill my time than to watch

                    television.

                             fewer, less

Use fewer when writing about something you

can count; less if you would measure it in

some other way. Specifically, if you could put
a number in front of a word (five acres), use

fewer. If you cannot put a number in front of a

word (five land), use less. You would write

fewer rocks but less sand, fewer cookies but

                                 less flour.
