Desktop Publishing
Event
The banking industry has become increasingly competitive. First
Bank has hired your team to develop a newsletter using a desktop-
publishing program to advertise their services. You and a partner have
two hours to prepare the document. It should include graphics, text,
creative layout, and appropriate fonts and type sizes.
Team members may use two computers for this assignment. You are
allowed to use a scanner and/or clip art. No other equipment may be
used. The finished product may be submitted in black-and-white or in
color on plain paper. Word division manuals and dictionaries may be
used as reference materials for this project.
Your desktop-publishing document should advertise the bank’s
20 convenient locations throughout the city. Ten of the banks are located
in supermarkets. The bank is open seven days a week for customers’
convenience. The Visa card offered at the bank carries a low 8.9 percent
interest rate for qualified customers. No fee is charged for checks if cus-
tomers maintain at least $500 in their accounts. When customers use
their debit cards, 1 percent of each transaction amount is donated by
First Bank to a school chosen by the customer.
