When there will be lap connection of windings, armature coils will be
connected in P number of parallel paths. That is, in this case there will be
four parallel paths. If each conductor or coil carries 25 A, the total output
current will be 100 A. The number of coils in each path will be reduced to
half, and hence the induced EMF per parallel path will be The
output power = 120 × 100 W = 12 kW.
Thus, we observe that output power remains the same but the voltage and
current ratings change.
