                  The error is negative as the reading will be less than the previous reading.


                                            12.11 HALL EFFECT TRANSDUCERS

               The principle of working of a Hall effect transducer is that when a strip of

               conducting material carries current in the presence of the transverse magnetic
               field, as shown in Fig. 12.14, an EMF will be induced between the opposite
               edges of the conducting strip. The magnitude of-the voltage induced too will

               depend upon the material of the strip, the current, and the magnetic field

               strength. Thus, we can state that Hall effect refers to the potential
               difference (Hall voltage) on the opposite sides of an electrical conductor
               through which an electric current is flowing, created by a magnetic field

               perpendicular to the current.
