COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
RESOURCE ALERT While Congress may be stymied, state legislatures
across the country are moving ahead. Local
Goodwill leaders and state associations can inform
Grassroots Advocacy Toolkit and influence this action. In this session, local
Goodwill leaders who advocate at the state level
connected with peers and shared experiences.
Among the state and local trends and topics
discussed impacting local Goodwill organizations
included online sales tax, minimum wage, paid
sick leave, predictive scheduling, donation bins
and interactions with the vocational rehabilitation
system.
The GII government relations team shares state
Brittany Creech, a Palmetto Goodwill program participant level legislation and trends being reported on and
analyzed by Bloomberg, the National Council on
Advocacy at the Local Level Nonprofits and the National Retail Federation.
