Being very close to the exit, we made it out in the open street faster
than they did. Just as I was about to breathe again, a lion appeared
next to a garbage bin. Then a tiger, then another lion. In a matter of
seconds, all around us, felines of all kinds were tightening the lines.
All escape routes got blocked, so the only surviving chance left was to
climb on top of a car.

What happened next was even more strange. While I was desperate-
ly reaching for the top of that car, my friend remained on the ground,
encouraging me to keep going but he himself not moving. When I got
            up, I was already surrounded.

The felines started jumping and roaring, trying to get to me. I fought
them off as much and for as long as I could, but one of them grabbed
my leg and drag me down, back on the ground.

That was it, my struggle was about to reach its end.

A tiger jumped at me, eager for a bite, but somehow, in a last des-
perate attempt to save myself, I managed to clutch his jaws and press
them together. Our eyes met for a brief moment, and time stopped.
In its eyes, I saw something that I would have never expected to see
in those circumstances. I saw: playfulness.

            - They never meant to harm me, all they ever wanted was to play.

As soon as my mind grasped that, the feeling of danger disappeared.
Everything calmed down and my “friend” was nowhere to be found.
