Automation of Grinding Process Intelligence (AGI)
Scope/ Objective:
1. To develop a framework for automatic processing of
signals obtained during the grinding processes and use rule-
based algorithms to make guidelines for problem solving and
process improvement.
2. To bring the science of grinding actively applicable for shop Industry 4.0 into
floor manufacturing.
3. To develop, demonstrate and deploy a hardware and machine tools
software platform that integrates the knowledge
(intelligence) pertaining to grinding processes together with Industry 4.0, IoT and smart
Data Science and Analytics (Automation). manufacturing are the buzzwords in
the manufacturing industry. AGI
Project Overview: integrates the state-of-the-art
algorithms related to Industry 4.0, IoT
AGI project expands on the data driven development of and smart manufacturing such as Data

as TVS, CUMI, MGT, etc. for data driven problem solving.
IoT capabilities demonstrated through AGI can be envisioned
to be expanded for all the machines, robots and test rigs such

AMTDC. The outcome of such IoT enabled capabilities can
also be remote and real time access to data and its sharing
across client companies.
The IoT capabilities for integrating multiple machines and
devices demonstrated through AGI will serve as a platform to
exhibit Industry 4.0 for SMEs and other manufacturing
industries in India.
