TYLER BOWERS
Filthy and fast, the #53 Monster Energy/ Pro Circuit Kawasaki machine is anything
but under the radar.
The guy is ridiculously
fast and has no problem showing you what the
dirt taste like at any given round. Having been born in California but riding out of Kentucky, Tyler Bowers is the type of racer that
the majority of fans adore, that most racers despise and the type that Mitch Payton supports full- fledged. Straight up, Tyler Bowers digs deep, charges on, ducks under, then pushes wide with elbows up and eyes forward; It’s electrifying.
Over the years since his debut in 2008, “Bowser”
has bounced back and forth between the two similar, yet different, racing series’ of Arenacross and Supercross, with most of his background in the former of the two.
As a result, it’s obvious to see the source of his bar bangin’ style that has us all waiting on the edge of our seats. Last year, in 2015,
he took on the challenge of racing the Supercross series full-time but was forced
to pull out early in order
to have back surgery and recover from the Epstein- barr virus. Now in 2016, Tyler has been able to compete at every race thus far but, ultimately, has fallen short of his championship expectations. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not due to lack
of speed, though, rather,
it seems to be a result of poor starts and unexpected mistakes. Showing signs of improvement in Indianapolis, Bowers actually tied his season-best finish with an 8th place, matching the opening round performance he had in Atlanta. Having come into St. Louis last Friday for round six, Bowers had three more rounds to show us what he’s made of, or, at least, attempt to.
