450 B
THE MOTOPLAYGROUND RACE
at Ponca City
COLTEN EIGENMANN >> 1
The 450 machine, simply put, isn’t for the weak hearted. You see many veterans of the sport, and professionals alike, actually detuning the machines in order to find a successful rate of efficiency. And to fathom that some of these riders, merely moved up from both minicycles, and two-stroke big bike machines mere months ago, is an incredible feat within itself. Riders are continuing to progress and improve with each passing year, better fit to handle these machines than the generation before them. All eyes were on this class, as there were many players in the hat for a chance to win. But Colten Eigenmann, in particular, had this look in his eye like no other competitor across the line. He sali- vated at the thought of a championship plate and recognition, looking to pounce on the competition with any ounce of fear they showed. He would start the moto in second, just behind Jonah Geistler,
the Illinois native. Stalking the number 625, the
two would really begin to pull from the field, as
his efficiency would propel him through the seri- ous chop that was beginning to develop. Running laptimes in the one minute, forty-two second range, Eigenmann would trail Geistler until the bitter end, never once losing sight of the name across his jersey. Satisfied with his effort, he would go into the second moto looking to set sail on the field, coming away with a championship. There were two more competitors coming to play for this round however, as Branden Walther and Kaed Kniffing looked to disrupt the part in which Eigenmann had hoped
for. But Eigenmann held strong, fluttering with the top two for the majority of the moto. However, as laps wore on, Geistler would begin to move into fourth, and Eigenmann knew that was the one guy who couldn’t pass. He would rise to the occasion, fighting off the KTM behind him until the referee waived the checkered flag. Coming through with chills rushing throughout his body, he found out that he claimed the championship, and couldn’t have been more excited. The ride back to Florida was going to be one for the ages, as the number 815 would come out on top, claiming a gold medallion around his neck. The sponsors were happy, the crew around him was gleaming with excitement, and this particular championship right here, would set the inner drive ablaze for him, yearning for more in the near future.
