THE MOTOPLAYGROUND RACE
at Ponca City
forth, Colip wouldn’t fall into the trap that was of cat and mouse. Instead, he plotted to make his move, eye- ing in on the charging speed to
one of the corners on the far side, and would slingshot past Allen on the final lap. And in doing so, the testament to his true courage was apparent; as he would actually set the quickest time of all on the final go-around. With everyone shaking their head in disbelief, even Gavin Towers knew that Colip was on
the move, and could be a positive contender come time for the second moto. Colip would come ready to play for the first moto, pulling an outstanding holeshot and ahead of second place. But it wasn’t all fun and games to be played in the lead, as the field was slowly continuing
to emerge behind him. It was that of Gavin Towers, who would actu- ally set the fastest lap of the moto himself, and look to make a move quick. He would do so, pushing Colip back to second; yet the young man would literally stay right on
the edge of Pennsylvania’s Tow- ers. Running one minute, forty-six second laptime all the way through, Colip’s raw speed and aggression would be in abundance. Crossing the line in second place, he knew as to where he stood overall, and was happily content with the re- sults he wound up with. Colips dual finishes of second place, would put him smack dab in the heart of silver medal territory. An awesome feat at an event of this magnitude would leave most feeling content and able to walk away feeling the rush of a podium finish. And he was excited, truly. Yet the fire within him contin- ued, as he wanted to keep accumu- lating wins with each passing race weekend.
