In Atlanta, Justin Brayton put together by far his most successful night of the
season. The track in the Georgia dome meshed perfectly with Brayton’s finesse
and style and it resulted in an exceptional 6th place qualifying effort.
Brayton started off the night show with a bang taking the early heat race lead from Mike Alessi and never looking back. The race was stacked with previous race winners and champions such as Dungey, Reed, Stewart, Tomac and Canard but that did not phase Brayton one bit. He rode away with the heat victory log- ging fast laps and putting his BTO Sports KTM on the pole position for the main event.
Brayton carried his momentum from his heat win directly into the main event by ripping the holeshot. But despite grabbing the early lead, Dungey, Musquin, and Reed would squeak by him in the opening laps pushing him to 4th. Brayton would stop the bleeding and hold the 4th place position for several laps until Millsaps came knocking on his door late in the race. The two would battle briefly but Millsaps would work his way by dropping Brayton to 5th where he would end up finishing. It was a season best finish and an all around great night for the veteran.
