Returning from an ugly crash at the RedBull Straight Rhythm, it
looks as though RJ Hampshire has not missed a beat. Qualifying 7th in practice and 6th out of his heat race, RJ was ready to get the 250 east coast championship fight underway. Putting himself in a great position early in the race,
RJ was right in the thick of things battling with the Star Racing Yamaha teammates Jeremy Martin and Aaron Plessinger for a top five position. As riders shuffled around and started to settle in, RJ was sitting in fifth position with only a few laps remaining. A hard charging Justin Hill made a late race pass on Hampshire and pushed him back to 6th place. Considering the crash that took place last November, a sixth place finish is a huge accomplishment and a great way to start the season.
