SHANE MCELRATH
March Madness, the time of year where
the little-known teams emerge and disrupt
the prestige of the powerhouse programs. McElrath’s amateur career could’ve placed him amongst the so- called “Diaper Dandies” of amateur motocross, and the TLD team has reaped what they’ve sewn into the North
Carolina resident.
Shane is living proof of what resiliency, persistency,
and faith can create when combined with hard work. The equation allows talent to flourish, and with optimum resources, a blossoming professional athlete is born.
McElrath came from a per se, “Mid-Major” minibike career, and transitioned into a
pure outlaw in his final years of non-professional competition. He broke the mold in his stand-out 2012 Loretta Lynn performance, where he sat
the fastest lap time of anyone, even Ricky Carmichael. If
past performances are any indication, the number 30 has
a lot of charisma yet to be unveiled, and many are eager to see what’s in store.
